Assistant Minister for Planning

Hon. Jenekai Dabla Lansanah was appointed by the President of the Republic of Liberia on May 1, 2012, as the Assistant Minister for Planning, Research, Statistics and Documentation, a position which he serves to present. Before said appointment, he had served as Assistant Director for Research/Records and Documentation from November 1, 2009 to August 3, 2011. Before then, he served as Regional Postmaster, Region #2, Bomi, Cape Mount and Gbarpolu Counties, from November 7, 2007 to October 30, 2009, all at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. He also served responsibilities at other public and private institutions, which include, Estate Manager , of the Chief Murphey and Vey John Estate, Inc., located in Vai Town, Bushrod Island, Monrovia, Liberia, which he serves from 2007 to present.

From 2001 to 2005, he served as Program Director, at Overcoming Violence through Evangelism and Reconciliation (OVER), Inc., Monrovia, Liberia. From 1999 to 2001, he served as Analyst,  at Industrial Trade and Supervision Section, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Monrovia, Liberia. From 1995 to 1998, he served as Supervisor at School Feeding Program National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA), Monrovia, Liberia. From 1993 to 1996, he served as Monitor at National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA), Monrovia, Liberia. In 1991, he served as Monitor at Lutheran World Service, Monrovia, Liberia. In 1988, he served as Garage Assistant, Lada Garage, Vai Town, Bushrod Island, Monrovia. 

In 2011, he served as Secretary General at the 2010/2011 Graduating Class of the Cuttington University Graduate School and Professional Studies, Monrovia, Liberia. From 1998 to 1999, he served as President at the Association of Bomi Collegians (ABC), A. M. E. Zion University College, Monrovia, Liberia. In 1995, he served as Chief of Protocol at the Student Council Government of the A. M. E. Zion Community College, Monrovia, Liberia. From 1994 to 1995, he served as Acting President at the Association of Bomi Collegians (ABC), A. M. E. Zion Community College, Monrovia, Liberia. In 1988, he served as Students Representative to the Faculty, Bomi Junior High School, Bomi County, Liberia. 

He obtained Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) in Management, at Cuttington University Graduate School and Professional Studies, Congo Town, Montserrado County, Liberia, on June 12, 2011. On June 22, 1999, he received Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Economics at A.M.E. Zion University College, Monrovia, Montserrado County, Liberia. On July 2, 1995, he received an Associate of Arts Degree (AA) in Economics at M. E. Zion Community College Monrovia, Montserrado County, Liberia. From 1992 to 1993, he received a High School Diploma and WAEC Certificate from William V. S. Tubman High School, 12th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia. From 1989 to 1990, he attended the Booker Washington Institute (BWI), With 1 ½ year experience in Auto-mechanic at Kakata, Margibi County, Liberia. From 1986 to 1988, he received a Junior High School Diploma and WAEC Certificate at Bomi Junior High School, Tubmanburg, Bomi County, Liberia. From 1981 to 1985, he received an Elementary Diploma from Tienimai Public School, Garwular District, Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia. 

On May 9, 2014, received a Certificate of Participation in Performance Management System Training at the Kenya School of Government, Kenya. On March 1, 2013, he received a One-Week Certificate of Participation in Performance Improvement and Effective Service Delivery at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, Topo, Badagry, Nigeria. On September 24, 2010, he received a Certificate of Achievement in Public Sector Management from Liberia Institute of Public Administration, Monrovia, Liberia. On October 8, 2007, he sat and passed the Civil Service Examination for Assistant Administrative Officer, administered on September 20, 2007, Monrovia, Liberia.

On March 8, 2007, he received a Certificate in Proposal Writing and Donor Relations at Global Rights and Liberia Democracy Watch, Monrovia, Liberia. On March 16, 2007, he received a Certificate in Media and Public Outreach Strategies at Global Rights and Liberia Democracy Watch, Monrovia, Liberia. On March 22, 2007, he received a Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluating Project Impact at Global Rights and Liberia Democracy Watch, Monrovia, Liberia. On August 29, 2006, he received a Certificate of Participation: 5 hours Training & Torture, an Overview for Religious Leaders at the  Center for Victims of Torture (CVT), Monrovia, Liberia.

On November 23, 2004, he received a Certificate in Reconciliation at Lutheran Church: Trauma Healing and Reconciliation Program (THRP), Totota, Bong County, Liberia. On July 1, 2000, he received a Diploma in Theology at the Agape Faith-Tech International Bible School, Monrovia, Liberia. And on June 22, 2000, he received a Certificate of Achievement in Computer Science at Don Bosco Polytechnic, Monrovia, Liberia. In 2011, he did An Evaluation of the Managerial Planning and Control Systems in Public Ministries in Liberia: A Case Study of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in Liberia (2008 – 2010). In 1999, I did the Importance of Manpower Development in Public Corporations in Liberia: A Case Study of the Liberian Electricity Corporation (LEC).

His vision over the years since he entered the postal arena of the Republic of Liberia, is to make sure that the Postal Sector meets the international best practice of operations set by the Universal Postal Union. To ensure that necessary policies are formulated to transform the Sector to meet the present-day reality. 

He is married to Mrs. Vivian Gaye-Lansanah and blessed with three Children.
